FilePulse - Installation Guide
2:36

FilePulse comes packaged with three (3) permission sets, FilePulse Admin, FilePulse User, and FilePulse Global User 360. In addition to leveraging the permission sets, we've created a guide with instructions on configuring FilePulse.

Detail

Installation Guide

Install FilePulse from the Appexchange
  1. Go to the Appexchange, search FilePulse and click Get it now. Or if you're lazy like me, here's the direct link to the listing https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000G0y4LUAR

  2. Install FilePulse for Admins Only. Don't sweat it, we will provision additional users later through Permission Sets.

  3. Once installation is complete, it's time to Assign the FilePulse Licenses to specific users. Navigate to Setup, search for Installed Packages and click on the Installed Packages Link. Scroll to the FilePulse Package and click Manage Licenses.

  4. To grant access to FilePulse, click on Add Users, select specific users in the Available Users section and click Add.
Assign Permission Sets

Now that we have added users to FilePulse, we need to designate the type of user. The FilePulse application comes with two Permission Sets already installed for you (FilePulse Admin and FilePulse User).

FilePulse Admin - A user who will be able to configure the FilePulse application with Solutions and Criteria. It is recommended to have as few as possible FilePulse Admins as possible (we don't want any mavericks breaking the system if you know what we mean.
FilePulse User - A user who can opt into records, receive Chatter notifications, Email Notifications and/or FilePulse Tasks. FilePulse Global User 360 - required for all users to send the FilePulse notification to other users.

To assign the permission sets, click on Setup and search for Permission Sets and assign the appropriate Permission Set as defined above.

Click the "Manage Assignments" button underneath the Permission Set name.

Click "Add Assignment" and then click the check box next to the users name you want to give the permission to.

Great Success!!

Now, go to the FilePulse app and confirm you're able to access the FilePulse Wizard. You're a star, you'll see a page the same as below. What are you waiting for? Configure your first object and solution now! You'll never forget this day, your life has been changed!
